Electrical components are mounted in a conical spun aluminum enclosure at the base of the luminaire. Enclosure is painted white. Optional quick disconnect for tool-less replacement of ballast pod available on request.

Ceramic metal halide core and coil ballast with class "H" (180°C) insulation system shall have a minimum high power factor rating of 90% and nominal ballast factor of 1.0. Ballast and starter combination shall be capable of reliable starting to -20°F (-30°C) at nominal line voltage of ±10%. Ballast, capacitor, and starter are UL and CSA recognized. Medium base porcelain socket is 660w-600v, 4kV pulse rated.

Trellis pole is fabricated with alternating vertical 1.1" diameter steel tubes and 0.4" diameter steel rods, rigidly welded to the perimeters of alternating 0.4" and 2" high horizontal rings, creating an open structure at the upper portion of the pole. Vertical structure encircles the main shaft located at the base of the pole with a section of one rod removed to allow access to the handhole. Flush mounted handhole cover is plasma cut with kerf not to exceed 1/8" and includes triangular tamper-resistant locking device. Single steel tube extends from the main pole shaft to the bottom of the tenon, serving as a conduit for power. Pole is hot-dip galvanized with coating inside and out, then lightly sanded prior to painting. Nominal pole height is 10' with 3" O.D. tenon.
