Heavily finned housing and doorframe are cast aluminum. Reflector sail is formed aluminum and finished in high reflectance matte white paint on the underside. Sail with two strengthening ribs spanning the cross section is attached to fabricated steel arm with ten flat head countersunk socket cap screws. Sail mounts to two hot-dip galvanized steel stanchions with two polished stainless steel knobs. Sail angle is positioned with stainless steel stop bolt located on the arm and groove pin fastened between the stanchions. Three socket head cap screws secure each stanchion to mounting holes fitted with stainless steel helical thread inserts at the rear of the heavy cast housing. Hinged doorframe is sealed to the housing with one-piece closed cell neoprene gasket and secured with two captive socket head cap screws. Clear tempered glass lens is machined to fit flush to the door and is mechanically retained and bonded to the door for a weather tight seal. Fabricated hot-dip galvanized steel slipfitter mounts to the bottom of the housing with four socket head cap screws and has two rows of three recessed setscrews to secure luminaire to the pole top. Weather tight strain relief bushing is fitted to the housing inside the slipfitter for the power cord. All hardware is stainless steel.

Metal halide core and coil ballast shall have class “H” (180°C) insulation system with a minimum high power factor rating of 90% and nominal ballast factor of 1.0. Ballast and starter (150w model) combination shall be capable of reliable starting to –20°F (-30°C) at nominal line voltage of ±10%. Ballast, capacitor, and starter (150w model) are UL and CSA recognized. RX7s porcelain sockets for 150w model are 660w-600v, 5kV pulse rated. FC2 porcelain sockets for 250w model are 1000w-600v, 5kV pulse rated

Round tapered steel pole is manufactured from cold drawn over mandrel, electric-weld, mechanical round steel tubing with nominal wall thickness of 0.157”. Flush mounted handhole cover is plasma cut with kerf not to exceed 1/8” and includes triangular tamper-resistant locking device. Pole is hot-dip galvanized with coating inside and out, then lightly sanded prior to painting. One-piece base cover is 0.080” spun aluminum and finished to match the pole. Nominal pole height is 23’.
