HOUSING
Wedge-shaped housing
is cast from high-grade aluminum alloy with integrated cooling fins
to enhance heat dissipation. Segregated ballast compartment with separate
cast aluminum cover is thermally isolated from the optical system,
ensuring optimal operating environment for electrical components.
Door assembly is one piece brushed stainless steel and sealed with
closed cell silicone gasketing when closed. Hinged door is retained
by two captive stainless steel socket head cap screws for ease of
maintenance. Braided stainless steel line houses weatherproof electrical
cord, terminating in watertight couplings at both ends. Housing is
adjustable to 0°, 10°, 20°, 30°, or 40° above
horizontal by means of two precision machined polished stainless steel
knobs and locked into place with two regressed locking bolts. Hot-dip
galvanized steel mounting bracket with integral slipfitter for 3 ¼”
O.D. tenon has two offset rows of three stainless steel setscrews
to secure and level luminaire to the pole.
OPTICS
Horizontal lamp
is housed in small hammertone, bright finish optical system, laser
cut for precise reproduction. Clear tempered glass lens is 0.20”
thick and bonded with silicone to the doorframe. Optional matte glass
lens is available upon request.
ELECTRICAL
Metal halide core
and coil ballast with class “H” (180°C) insulation system
shall have a minimum high power factor rating of 90% and nominal ballast
factor of 1.0. Ballast and starter (where applicable) shall be capable
of reliable starting to –20°F (-30°C) at nominal line
voltage of ±10%. Ballast, capacitor, and starter (where applicable)
are UL and CSA recognized. FC2 base socket for 250w metal halide is
1000w-600v, 5kV pulse rated. RX7s socket for 150w and 70w metal halide
is 660w-600v, 5kV pulse rated.

POLE
Straight round steel
pole is manufactured from cold drawn over mandrel, electric-weld,
mechanical round steel tubing with nominal wall thickness of 0.142”.
Flush mounted handhole cover is plasma cut with kerf not to exceed
1/8” and includes triangular tamper-resistant locking device.
Tenon is machined and inserted into the pole shaft then plug welded,
showing no visible weld at the transition. Shaft is hot-dip galvanized
with coating inside and out, then lightly sanded prior to painting.
Base cover is one-piece 0.080” spun aluminum and finished to
match the pole. Specify pole height of 12’, 15’, or 20’
overall nominal height. See pole data sheet for mounting details.
FINISH
Housing is ultrasonically
cleaned prior to painting. Standard finish is finely textured matte
silver grey metallic. Special colors available on request.
WARRANTY
Limited product
warranty period is three years. Lamps and ballasts shall carry the
respective manufacturer's limited warranty.
