Electrical components are mounted in a conical spun aluminum enclosure at the base of the luminaire. Enclosure is painted white. Optional quick disconnect for tool-less replacement of ballast pod available on request.

Metal halide core and coil ballast with class "H" (180°C) insulation system shall have a minimum high power factor rating of 90% and nominal ballast factor of 1.0. Ballast shall be capable of reliable starting to -20°F (-30°C) at nominal line voltage of ±10%. Ballast and capacitor are UL and CSA recognized. Mogul base porcelain socket for 200w pulse start metal halide is 1500w-600v, 4kV pulse rated. Medium base porcelain socket for 150 ceramic metal halide is 660w-600v, 4kV pulse rated.

Trellis pole is fabricated with alternating vertical 1.1" diameter aluminum tubing and 0.4" diameter aluminum rods, rigidly welded to the perimeters of alternating 0.4" and 2" high horizontal rings, creating an open structure at the upper portion of the pole. Vertical structure encircles the main shaft located at the base of the pole with a section of one rod removed to allow access to the handhole. Flush mounted handhole cover is plasma cut with kerf not to exceed 1/8" and includes triangular tamper-resistant locking device. Single aluminum tube extends from the main pole shaft to the bottom of the tenon, serving as a conduit for power. Nominal pole height is 10' with 3" O.D. tenon. Pole mounts to factory-supplied hot-dip galvanized soil insert with stainless steel socket head bolts.
